Stark, boldfaced lamentations

Desperate fingers

Amputated by barbed wire fence

Probe the smallest niche

In view of a signboard’s neon siren

Promising fertile tranquility.

A child’s cry rises

Silenced by failing lungs

Replaced by others

Over the wall

Tattered shreds wave.
