The content within Junto Magazine's publication and website is intended for adults and our team will not knowingly collect personal information from minors. As all of our submitters are adults, most of the content is intended for a more mature audience and may not be appropriate for minors under 18.
Content submitted to the magazine cannot infringe on intellectual property rights or invade privacy. While our editors perform a cursory check of contributed content for assurance of originality, we are not lawyers or specialists in copyright. We reserve the right to remove, without notice, any content posted that is considered, for any reason, to be in violation of another's copyright or any of Junto Magazine's stated guidelines. Let's be honest, you would want the same if you found your own work posted elsewhere.
By submitting content, you are granting Junto Magazine a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide license to use your content in connection with the magazine, including, without limitation, the license rights to copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, reproduce, edit, translate and reformat your content, and/or to incorporate it into a collective work in any format whether now known or hereafter developed. If a submitted piece is rejected, this license is rendered null and void until it is resubmitted.
User Representations and Warranties
By submitting content, you represent and warrant that you have all rights, title, and interest to the content, including but not limited to any consent, authorization, release, clearance or license from any third party (such as, but not limited to, any release related to rights of privacy or publicity) necessary for you to provide, post, upload, input or submit the content. You further represent and warrant that posting such content does not violate or constitute the infringement of any patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, right of privacy, right of publicity, moral rights, or other intellectual property right recognized by any applicable jurisdiction of any person or entity, or otherwise constitute the breach of any agreement with any other person or entity. You further represent and warrant that you are who you say you are, that you have not submitted fictitious, false or inaccurate information about yourself, and that the submitted content does not contain any threatening, harassing, libelous, false, defamatory, offensive, obscene, or pornographic, material, or other material that would violate any other applicable law or regulation. You represent and warrant that the content you supply does not violate these Terms.
Prior Publication Policy
For licensing purposes, all submissions must be unpublished by a third party prior to submission to Junto Magazine. This enables us to guarantee that the work is original and that the right to license it to Junto Magazine currently resides with the submitter. In addition, we request that any piece submitted to Junto Magazine not be made available through personal websites, blogs, or channels prior to publication. Once a piece is published in the issue, the submitter is welcome to post it on their own sites but we ask that a line be added directing viewers to the copy published in the magazine. This allows both submitter and Junto Magazine to benefit from increased visibility.
At any time before a piece is reviewed by one of our editors, a it can be withdrawn if the submitter should change their mind about submitting with us. However, once an editor has begun to review it, the piece will not be permitted to be withdrawn from consideration and the submitter must wait to receive either an acceptance or a rejection. If the piece has been accepted, it will not be allowed to be withdrawn. We do not offer refunds of reviewing fees on withdrawn pieces.
To stay in line with our withdrawal policy, we do not accept simultaneous submissions.
If you are a copyright owner and you believe that your copyrighted materials have been used in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please see below.
You acknowledge and agree to indemnify and hold Junto Magazine, their affiliates, officers, employees, and agents harmless, including costs and attorneys’ fees, from any claim or demand made by any third party due to or arising out of your use of the magazine or website, your violation of these Terms, or the infringement by you or made under your Account(s) of any intellectual property or other right of any person or entity.
If you believe your work to have been infringed upon, contact email@example.com with the title of the work being infringed on, the piece in question, and your contact information. As general practice, a piece that is claimed to be infringing on the copyright of another will be taken down until it can be determined whether or not there was a violation of copyright.
